Ready to take your darkroom skills to the next level? Darkroom Photography, Course 2: Intermediate Printing & Expanding Your Skills is all about refining your prints and using techniques to elevate your work. This 4-week class will focus on fine-tuning your darkroom process with fiber-based paper, exploring the art of dodging and burning, using split-grade contrast control, toning, and troubleshooting common darkroom challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to develop a portfolio of high-quality prints while honing your craft.
Through guided practice and hands-on instruction, you’ll learn how to control exposure to bring out the finest details, fine-tune contrast with split-grade printing, and experiment with toning techniques to add depth and character to your images. You’ll also gain experience working with fiber-based paper, learning how to properly handle, wash, and dry it for archival-quality results.
By the end of the course, you’ll not only have improved your technical skills but also developed a deeper understanding of darkroom printing as an art form. This class is designed for photographers looking to refine their darkroom workflow and create a cohesive body of work. Be ready to print, experiment, and build a stunning portfolio that showcases your unique vision.
With 24-hour access to the darkroom throughout the course, you’ll have plenty of time to experiment and perfect your prints. Classes run Thursdays, 6:00–8:30 pm,
